Miss Bishop’s Beef Stew

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Stew Recipe | Taste of Home

Miss Bish’s dish is a crowd pleaser. If you don’t have a slow cooker, just use the oven on a medium temperature, the longer it takes to cook, the better.

500g of cubed beef
1 litre of beef stock
Tin of chickpeas
Tin of tomatoes
3 carrots chopped
1 onion chopped
2 leeks chopped
2 celery sticks chopped
3-4 large potatoes cubed
A table spoon of dried mixed herbs
2 gloves of garlic crushed
1 tablespoon of sugar ( brings out the flavour in the tomatoes).

Place all the uncooked ingredients into a slow cooker for 6-8 hours

Serve with Yorkshire puddings or warm crusty bread and butter.
